Client: PeaceHealth Ketchikan Role: Director / Cinematographer Series: The Mission & Values Awards
As part of an annual series celebrating the organization's top five caregivers, this film profiles Flora Lynn Rodriguez, the Linen Services Manager in Ketchikan. While she isn't patient-facing, her role is vital to the hospital's operation, particularly in a remote island location where self-sufficiency is key.
The client wanted to lift up a specific message: Stewardship. Flora Lynn is known for her creative, frugal solutions to fix problems rather than immediately spending the budget on replacements. The goal was to celebrate this humble innovation and show that living out the hospital's mission happens in the basement just as much as it does in the ER.
We wanted to elevate the environment of the laundry room, treating the steam, machinery, and linens with the same cinematic reverence usually reserved for high-tech medical gear. By focusing on Flora Lynn's personal "why"—her deep dedication to supporting her family—we connected her resourcefulness at work to her dignity as a person. The result is a portrait of service that proves every role holds purpose.
